NEW BEGINNING MINISTRIES

New Member's Orientation Ministry

Ministry Leader: Elder Phyllis Stallings

Meetings: 2nd Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m.

Scripture

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5: 17

Purpose

The Orientation Ministry is to provide support and instruction, which will assist each new member in their walk with the Lord. The ministry is designed to also acquaint them with their responsibilities as Christians and with various ministries within the Body of Christ at New Beginning. The term "New Member" refers to new converts and those uniting through Christian experience.

Mission Statement

The New Beginning Orientation Ministry's mission statement encompasses our church's mission and that is: "Commitment to the building of the Kingdom of God on earth through Exalting the Savior Jesus Christ; Evangelizing the sinners; Equipping the saints."

To this end, the Orientation Ministry's focused mission is to provide love, compassion and support to all new members entering new members' classes. Altar workers, teachers and administrative staff are servant leaders strategically placed to assist all new members, regardless of race, color or socio-economic status. Our guiding scripture is taken from Ephesians 4:1-4, which states: "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto everyone is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ."

Orientation Classes

All new members are required to attend specially designed classes on Sundays during the Church School time. Classes are held in the educational building, room 216 starting at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 10:30 a.m. The instructional modules are as follows:

Class 1 - God's Plan for Salvation

Class 2 - Christian Growth

Class 3 - The Baptist Church & Full Gospel Distinctives

Class 4 - Stewardship: Gifts and Giving

Each class is held every Sunday. If new members miss any of the classes, they are provided opportunity to make up the class upon their return.

Upon completion of the four (4) classes, students receive a certificate of completion and instruction for the final phase of preparation called "Boot Camp." This class is called the Spiritual Warfare Phase of Christian Training and is an extension of the New Members Orientation Ministry.
